Polk Burnett Leadership Academy

Cultivating a Better Community.. and Discovering New Horizons

The Polk-Burnett Leadership Academy offered individuals working and living in Polk and Burnett Counties the opportunity to change their lives and the lives of those around them. In partnership with the Unversity of Wisconsin Extension, Participants had the opportunity for personal and professional growth with a session once a month from September through May.

The first session expanded and perfectedthe individuals leadership potential and style, as well as motiviate to take on and solve business and community issues. Later sessions provided a behind-the-scenes glimpse into services in the Polk-Burnett area. Individuals also met and interacted with leaders from the region who presented concrete information about local issues of concern.

Session locations rotated between the two counties. The cost of the program covered books, materials, meals and program activities. Attendance was expected at each session.

Each participant left these comprehensive and hands-on sessions with a solid understanding of who they were, what issues this region faces, and how they could make a difference on the job and in their community.
