Farmland Preservation 2012
Farmland Preservation 2012
In January 2012 the Polk County Land & Water, Cooperative Extension and Planning Division sent out information letters to past contributors informing them of the need to reframe the Polk County Farmland Preservation Plan. This letter asked for them to send back a postcard informing them of their wish to provide their input and assistance with the process. There were several that had returned the card with this interest. So on March 22, 2012 an informational meeting was held with much information provided including the value of agriculture and an introduction to Farmland Preservation Planning. This meeting also established a core committee that plans to meet once a month. The April meeting resulted in roles, responsibilities, and mission statement development and the next meeting was set for May 17, 2012 at the Polk County Government Center in Balsam Lake from 6pm – 8pm. If any one is interested please feel free to join any of the meetings. Meeting notes will be available after the meetings are held if for any reason you are unable to make it to a meeting but want to stay informed. Another way to stay informed is to clink on the link below and you will be redirected to another informational website.
